How Many Pages Does a Local Service Website Need?

Choose pages by service, customer questions, and real locations—not by a target number alone.

Start with the work and the questions

A small company may need a homepage, about page, contact path, and individual pages for its most distinct services. A larger organization may have enough verified detail for additional locations, service variations, and educational resources.

Every page should have a reason: help someone choose a service, understand a process, verify a real office, or answer a recurring question. A page count without a content plan can create duplicate or outdated material.

  • Map pages to actual services and customer questions.
  • Use separate pages when information is distinct.
  • Plan for ongoing accuracy and ownership.

Treat expansion as a maintenance commitment

More pages require more review. Confirm who can update services, location details, pricing factors, photos, and policies. If a page cannot be kept accurate, combine it with a stronger related page.

A larger build can be useful when the business has real depth to publish. It should not be sold as a guaranteed ranking shortcut.

  • Budget for review and updates.
  • Consolidate pages that no longer add value.
  • Do not equate page count with rankings.
